Phase 1: Investigating

During this phase I made a clear goal "My goal is to improve my understanding of interior design, through the creation of an online version of the interior of a one floor house ." This was the goal I created for myself, it is clear and you can see what I want to do for a project, you can see it is based off my personal interest as it is about Interior Design. After this step I discussed with my supervisor what would be the best Global Context, I choose "Scientific and technical innovation." Below you have the six Global contexts which you can choose from. Tip: Make sure to choose one where you know what you are doing and you clearly understand it.

1. Identities and Relationships

2. Personal and Cultural expressions

3. Globalisation and Sustainability

4. Orientation in space and time

5. Scientific and technical innovation

6. Fairness and development

Next I began my research, I used my prior knowledge on interior design to get a head start on my research. Tip: Site all your sources the moment you use them so you don't have to waste time and keep trying to find those same websites you used. During this phase I also choose my software to create my house, this was a major part of my research as I had to find the most suitable software for me to use.

Phase 2: Planning

After doing my research I created my criteria (found on "criteria"). The criteria is a sort of checklist that keeps you on track with what your product has to look like, this is a crucial part of your Personal Project as it will be part of your report. After making this I finalised it with my supervisor and started to create my plan. I planned out when I was going to do things so that I am on top of things. This plan has to show self management skills and your thinking skills.

Phase 3: Action

This is when I created my project, I made sure that my product was in response to my Global Context, Criteria and Goal. I demonstrated my research and knowledge on interior design. This was also a way to test my understanding about this software and testing my design skills.

Phase 4: Reflecting

This is the phase I am currently on, I have to reflect on all my process that I have gone through and reflect on every single phase in detail. This is the most important part of your Personal Project as this is where all your marks go towards.

TIP: Make sure to start this early so you don't fall behind and you end up doing it 2 weeks before the deadline.

TIP: RECORD EVERYTHING IN YOUR PROCESS JOURNAL!!! THIS IS EXTREMELY CURUCIAL. It will help you so much in writing your report.
